The 2026 Sovereign range marks a significant return to heritage: following the final use of the "red" rose-gold alloy in 2025, it reinstates the classic yellow gold used throughout much of The Sovereign's history. 2026 also marks 500 years since the coinage reforms under Henry VIII first established 22 carat gold as The Sovereign's standard alloy, a specification that still defines the coin today. The bullion coin is the most secure yet, with new micro-text engraving of the Order of the Garter motto on the reverse and a half-tone latent image on the obverse, alternating between the Tudor Crown, The King's royal cypher, and the Tudor Rose.
